I met Robin and Erin for the first time at their engagement session. These two met playing hockey so in true Canadian form we went for an outdoor skate. It was a lovely -20 on Reflection Lake in Golden where we decided to meet and capture some shots (literally speaking). The ladies were prepared with their gear and matching scarves. With such grace in very cold temps temps they laced their skates with numb hands and took to the ice. We had to work efficiently as the sun was setting and the temperature was dropping. Supporting and warming each other as they patiently took direction from me we captured some amazing enduring portraits. From this moment I gathered one strong truth about this lovely couple, that when there are challenges they work through them as partners, listening and acknowledging one another’s needs to accomplish the goal.
When it came to planning their wedding and the many hurdles they had to jump over to make sure all went smoothly they endured and worked through it together. Robin and Erin with help form their friends and family accomplished a stunning day, in circumstances that were much to be desired (unfortunately the venue was not as promised) I believe in life they can work through any challenge presented to them and their love is the strength that guides them.
