I have so many great things to say about Amy. The wedding photos she took for us were amazing and everything I asked for but beyond that just having her around was wonderful. My family is still talking about how amazing she was on the day and my husband and I felt so comfortable having her take our photos. I highly recommend, you won’t be disappointed!

Where do I begin in terms of how perfect it was to work with Amy as our photographer for our ski wedding at Kicking Horse?! As I look through all the photos to figure out which ones to print as a thank you to family and guests and for us, I am blown away by how perfectly she captured our outdoor ceremony at Eagle Eye, the ski down with 45 of our guests (not an easy feat!), and the reception at White Tooth Grill.
But even more importantly, as someone that is not the most comfortable with being photographed, Amy made the entire experience feel so natural! It felt more like she was our friend and was so fun to work with!
And as avid skiers, the icing on the cake for us was the fact that Amy is former ski patroller who definitely knows her way around the mountain! We opted to use our engagement session 2 days before the wedding to have Amy get some incredible shots of us skiing. This was a highlight for us and we are so grateful for her expertise both as a skier and a photographer!

We are so pleased with our wedding photos. Amy did an amazing job capturing our special day. Our original wedding plan was a helicopter ride to a mountain top. Due to bad weather we had to change the plan last minute. Amy was super accommodating.
We were so happy with our wedding photos we hired Abarrett Photography for a family photo session. They are great!

Looking for a Photographer that fit our wants for our big day (May 20, 2017 Hillside Lodge & Chalets Golden) and someone that we were comfortable with was a hard task initially. After several meetings with other photographers and not being totally satisfied we came across  A Barrett Photography. Our wedding was only months away we inquired with our wedding planner (Susan Bateman, Golden Dreams) who absolutely confirmed she was a good fit and encouraged us to contact her, we contacted Amy immediately.First off she was a local to Golden which was more than we were expecting from our photographer, reasonably priced and available. After some short back and forth online correspondence and her suggestion of taking our engagement photos while boarding at Kicking Horse (seriously? heck ya!). We went all in and planned a trip to Golden to do our engagement session snowboarding at Kicking Horse. We met  Amy for the first time that day and although nervous at first as soon as we found her at the chair lift and rode up we knew we made the right choice. She knew the ‘right’ places to have the photos taken, was easy to work with, be around and also a pro skier so beware (jk).  Seriously though we got professional photos taken while snowboarding and it was only a couple hours out of our day!We didn’t want the standard wedding photos and my husband was apprehensive of the typical and often not natural staged wedding photos. We were looking for a laid back, natural, candid and personal feel; all these elements were accomplished both during our engagement photos and on our wedding day. The Big Day. Amy was professional and fun throughout. She kept everyone in line and gave direction when needed. We hiked down to the Blaeberry River and the pictures were so crazy good that they look fake, blue sky, river and mountains with a bunch of our well dressed best friends. Im guessing many photographers wouldn’t have wanted to make the hike or even thought to go to the river but her local expertise and adventurous attitude is so special. I cannot emphasize enough that her local knowledge benefited us along with her love for the outdoors. She encouraged us to stay on site for our photos vs leaving the venue and taking time away from our guests, bonus. We got things done as quick as we could and did not feel rushed. Amy snuck us away at dusk to take some one-on-one photos that again have an unbelievable back drop especially when combined with the sunset, they’re pretty spectacular. Amy was able to capture the details that were important to us that included decor, guests and all the smiles and candid shots of our loved ones; the backdrop to our pictures at Hillside Lodge & Chalets could not be beat on May 20, 2017!Amy’s fun, adventurous and familiar with Golden’s special spots. Amy was easy to work with and captured our day that would have otherwise been a simply a blur of awesome. When we look back at the photos it takes us back to that sunny mountain May Long Day with all our family and friends and we can relive it through Amy’s work; we didn’t even notice her taking most of these wonderful pictures. If we were looking to have professional photos taken again family or otherwise we would make the 6 hour drive from Sherwood Park to use A Barrett Photography in Golden, no question. Thank you, Amy we look forward to another adventure with you one day.

We had the pleasure of working with Amy for our winter wedding. We planned our wedding mainly by correspondence and due to our busy schedules never had the chance to take Amy up on her offer to get some engagement photos done before the big day. So we met her the day of our wedding and it was wonderful. She exceeded our expectations and took a great variety of photos. Our schedule, like so many weddings, got behind compared to our original plan but she was so patient as she waited for me to finish getting ready and took so many wonderful pictures of the details that I am grateful to have to relive the day.

Our photos are stunning and we get so many compliments on them. Amy did a great job of not only capturing us on our day but also our families, bridal party and candid shots of our guests. It was special to see moments that happened around us that we didn’t have the chance experience for ourselves. She also does an incredible job of capturing the scenery. Part of the reason we chose Eagle Eye Restaurant was for the magical backdrop and Amy really went above and beyond to help us preserve the view in our photos. We have pictures from all times of the day including late into the evening when the stars were out and most photographers have gone home. This extra effort and key eye for the mountains and the sky are exactly why we’d recommend Amy to you. We had a hard time deciding which photos to enlarge on canvas in our home because so many were breathtaking and the quality even enlarged held the integrity of the original photo down to the smallest of star. Amy and her work are worth it.
